Dr. Fritz-Andre Duterlien is a board-qualified podiatric surgeon based in Alexandria, Virginia, with advanced expertise in comprehensive foot and ankle care. He specializes in minimally invasive bunion surgery, wound care, limb salvage, podiatric sports medicine, pediatric foot conditions, and complex reconstructive procedures. With a strong foundation in both clinical and surgical podiatry, Dr. Duterlien is committed to improving patient outcomes through individualized treatment plans and a multidisciplinary care approach.

A graduate of Barry University’s School of Podiatric Medicine, Dr. Duterlien completed his residency at the VA Maryland Health Care System and Sinai Hospital of Baltimore’s Rubin Institute of Advanced Orthopedics. During residency, he gained extensive experience in surgical techniques, diabetic limb salvage, and orthopedic collaboration.

Currently practicing at Capital Footcare and Washington Vascular Specialists in Washington, D.C., Dr. Duterlien performs a range of surgical and in-office procedures while working closely with vascular and medical teams to ensure continuity of care.

Dr. Duterlien is a dedicated lifelong learner who has participated in numerous national conferences and advanced training workshops. He is also a recognized leader and mentor, having served as president of the SNPMA and vice president of his medical school class. He has been honored with several academic and humanitarian awards, including the Clifford O’Connor, DPM Memorial Compassion Physician Award and multiple national scholarships.
