Brian K. Levy, DPM, is a highly skilled surgeon and podiatrist at Starrett Podiatry in New York, New York, which he established in 2002.

In 2000, Dr. Levy graduated from Manhattan’s New York College of Podiatric Medicine (NYCPM) in Harlem. This prestigious institution was established in 1911 and is the oldest college in the United States devoted to educating and training doctors of podiatric medicine.

After earning his Doctor of Podiatric Medicine degree, Dr. Levy continued his training at Jamaica Hospital Medical Center in Queens, New York, where he served as a podiatric resident from 2000 through 2001. After completing his year at Jamaica Hospital Medical Center, Dr. Levy moved to Norwalk, California to further hone his skills at Coast Plaza Hospital.

Upon completion of his last residency in 2002, Dr. Levy established his practice in the Brooklyn neighborhood of Starrett City. More than a decade after establishing his practice, Dr. Levy remains deeply committed to offering the best quality of medical care to his patients.

He’s a Diplomate of the American Board of Podiatric Surgery, Board Certified in Foot Surgery and a Diplomate of the American Board of Multiple Specialties in Podiatry, Board Certified in Primary Care in Podiatric Medicine and Podiatric Surgery. Dr. Levy is also a Fellow of the American College of Foot and Ankle Surgeons and a member of the American Podiatric Medical Association.

With a real dedication to the field of podiatry, Dr. Levy takes significant enjoyment in mentoring new doctors. He gives educational lectures at Kingsbrook Jewish Medical Center and is an active participant in the resident training programs at Beth Israel Medical Center and Brookdale University Hospital and Medical Center.

Amit Singh Kalra, DPM, is a dedicated podiatrist at Starrett Podiatry in Brooklyn and New York, New York, who is passionately devoted to his patients and his profession.

Having experienced foot pain at a young age brought on by flat feet and athletic injuries, a career in podiatry called to him. Dr. Kalra strives to help others who are suffering from their foot issues.

After earning his Bachelor’s degree in Nutrition in 2003, Dr. Kalra pursued an advanced degree in Exercise Science at Ithaca College. During his time as a graduate student, he served as an intern for the United States Olympic Committee (USOC).

As part of his duties for the USOC, Dr. Kalra worked alongside athletes at the Olympic Training Center in Lake Placid, New York, to aid them with their strength and conditioning programs. Dr. Kalra completed his graduate studies at Ithaca College in 2005, receiving a master’s degree in Exercise and Sports Sciences.

After graduation, Dr. Kalra began his studies in podiatric medicine at the Rosalind Franklin University of Medicine and Science (RFUMS). During this program, Dr. Kalra served as both a tutor and a teaching assistant.

After earning his Doctor of Podiatric Medicine degree in 2009, Dr. Kalra moved back to the East Coast to start a podiatric medicine and surgery residency at Long Island Jewish Medical Center in New Hyde Park, New York. Dr. Kalra is a member of the American College of Foot and Ankle Surgeons, the American Podiatric Sports Medicine Association and the New York State Podiatric Medical Association.

Dr. Kalra takes pride in using his extensive knowledge base and varied skill set to achieve optimal outcomes for his patients at Starrett Podiatry, where he has been on staff since 2014.

Dr. Bilello earned her bachelor’s degree at the State University of New York at Albany and received her Doctor of Podiatric Medicine at New York College of Podiatric Medicine in New York City. She completed internships at St. Mary Hospital in Hoboken, New Jersey, and Coney Island Hospital in Brooklyn, New York.

She completed her residency at Gouverneur Hospital’s Podiatric Residency Program in New York City and was a fellow of the American College of Foot and Ankle Orthopedics and Medicine. She is also a diplomate of the American Board of Podiatric Medicine.

Theresa I. Djama, DPM, is excited to begin her career in private practice as a podiatrist at Starrett Podiatry. She completed her stint as the chief resident in podiatric medicine and surgery at Beth Israel Mount Sinai Medical Center in June 2018.

Dr. Djama attended New York College of Podiatric Medicine, where she was an active member of the college community. Her many extracurriculars included tutoring her fellow students in several classes, participating in the college’s public health club, and serving as a national delegate from the college to the Student National Podiatric Medical Association.

Dr. Djama has a long history of volunteering and is drawn to podiatry in part because it’s a way to help people. Her volunteer experience includes providing assistance to athletes at the Special Olympics, fitting new cadets at West Point for boots and educating them on proper foot care, and mentoring an incoming podiatric student at NYCPM as part of the college’s Big Brothers Big Sisters program. Daniel Basalely, DPM, provides patient-centered surgical and non-surgical podiatry treatment at Starrett Podiatry in its six New York offices.

In 2007, Dr. Basalely graduated magna cum laude from Yeshiva University with a bachelor’s degree in Psychology. He then delved deeper into the world of science by working as a research assistant at the Albert Einstein College of Medicine, which pursues cutting-edge biomedical research.

In that capacity, Dr. Basalely assisted for a year on the Einstein Aging Study, a long-term research project which focuses on the changes in walking patterns and mobility that accompany aging.

Dr. Basalely returned to school in 2008 as a student at Manhattan’s New York College of Podiatric Medicine (NYCPM), where he earned the Pedinol Award for Excellence in Dermatology. During this time, Dr. Basalely also co-authored a report focused on a patient suffering from the type of cancer known as Kaposi’s sarcoma, which was presented at the National American Podiatric Medical Association Annual Scientific Meeting in 2011 and also published in the Journal of Foot and Ankle Surgery in 2012.

Shortly after earning his Doctor of Podiatric Medicine degree in 2012, Dr. Basalely began a four-year podiatric medicine and surgery residency at Mount Sinai Beth Israel in Manhattan. Here, he received hands-on training in minimal incision surgery as well as forefoot and rearfoot surgery, wound care, sports medicine, and treatment of Charcot’s foot.

Dr. Basaley is a member of the New York State Podiatric Medical Association and the American Podiatric Medical Association, which allows him to stay abreast of today’s research and latest treatment options.

Dr. Cerise Adams was born and raised in Brooklyn, New York. As a first generation American, one of the most important attributes her parents instilled in her was hard work and perseverance Dr. Adams attended Clara Barton High School for Health Professions in Brooklyn to begin her educational path towards a career in medicine. She gained honors and recognition in Biology and Chemistry.

Following high school, Dr. Adams matriculated into Fordham University with a BA in Natural Sciences and concentration in pre-medicine. She shadowed many types of physicians during her summer breaks however she was most attracted to the field of podiatry. What she loved about podiatry was the diversity that it included; from surgery, sports medicine and wound care to limb salvage and complex pediatric deformities.

Dr. Adams graduated from Temple University School of Podiatric Medicine in Philadelphia and later went to St. Barnabas Hospital in the Bronx for residency, a level 1 trauma center where she completed four years of training and rose to the level of chief resident during her final year. Dr. Adams received surgical training at St. Barnabas, Empire Surgical Center, Westmed Medical Center in Rye, and St. Catherine of Siena Hospital in Smithtown New York. She is well trained and confident in rendering podiatric care involving diabetic foot care, routine care, wound care, limb salvage, dermatological conditions of the foot and ankle, nail surgeries, and surgical procedures involving soft tissue and osseous abnormalities in the forefoot, ankle and rearfoot including reconstructive surgical procedures.
